What is airtip?Simply put, airtip allows you to receive tips digitally directly from your customer. You're in control as there is no middleman or TRONC system involved. in 95% of cases, customers cover any admin charge so you get to keep 100% of your tips just like you did with cash, except airtip is way cooler!

How do I sign up?airtip is free and really easy to use. Simply download the Apple or Android app, follow the onboarding and you're ready to take tips. It's secure, easy to use and super fun to use. Make sure you verify your account and connect your bank account so you can take full advantage of all the features.

Is airtip secure?Extremely safe and bank grade. Data is encrypted and we will never share personal detailed. See our terms and conditions for details on how we process your data. airtip is powered by Stripe, the world's leading banking and onboarding platform.

Why is my 'available balance' showing zero?Don't worry, it's likely any tips made to you, have not cleared yet. It's totally normal for tips to take up to 7 days to clear. In most cases, it's only 3 days but depending on how you got tipped, it can take a little longer. Just check back in a few days and you should see the available balance updated. If you have any concerned, you can contact us in the app

Do I get 100% of tips?Yes (and no). In over 95% of cases, customer's cover tipping admin and transaction fees which means you get 100% of the tip amount, just like you would with cash. If they do not, then a small fee is applied (sorry) to transactions (it's not our fault as it's the payment networks like Visa, Mastercard etc). We encourage all tippers to pay the small fee so that you, our lovely and hardworking service professional, get the full 100% tip. In the meantime, we're working hard in the background with our partners to see if we can reduce these fees. We will always keep you updated of any changes of course and remember, the more people use airtip, the more you benefit from reduced transaction fees, so please spread the word!

Can I cancel?Yes, any time. We understand you may have any reason not to continue using airtip, and that's ok (well, sad to see you go of course but...) you are in control, always. No contract or subscription to worry about. Your tips are safe of course. We do encourage you to wait until all tips are cleared and withdrawn to make sure you get your hard earned money. Once your balance is £0, you should cancel (simply go to settings -> close my account). You can read more here:

Can I use airtip to collect donations for my Charity?Absolutely. We encourage Charities and NGOs to onboard as we help save them on processing fees. We've worked and teamed up with Stripe to ensure processing fees are at a minimum and in most cases, they are covered by the donor or person tipping. How much can a customers tip?We have limited airtip tipping to a maximum of £30 to ensure we mitigate any potential misuse. We also apply strict AML rules so multiple payments by a single customers are monitored. We take your safety and security seriously and have made every effort to ensure your account is secure and compliant.

Can you help me with a great bio?Yes, absolutely! We want you to be a successful as possible so we've created some great profile bios here. In addition, don't forget to add a great profile picture and job title. It's often a good idea to put your work place in the job title. For example, Jane Doe works at Bella Bistro as a waitress. Should have her job title as Waitress - Bella Bistro. We also advise you personalise your bio to make it more appropriate to your job or cause. I'm a professional beautician committed to making you feel beautiful inside and out. Whether it's skincare, makeup, or therapeutic treatments, I put my heart into every session. Your tips support my continuous learning in beauty therapy. Thank you for valuing my work!" Dog Walker: "Hi! I'm your friendly neighborhood dog walker. Taking care of your furry friends is more than a job; it's a joy. Every tip helps me invest in better equipment and training to ensure your pet's safety and happiness. What about tax on my tips?The great news is you manage your tax directly. We provide a service without a middleman involve. No business, TRONC or organisation to complicate the process of receiving tips and managing your own tax affairs. We do encourage you to follow all UK government and HMRC guidelines which you can find HERE. You will need to decide how you collect tips (as an individual, sole trader or business) and apply to HMRC appropriately.

Why are you asking for my ID and account details?Simply put, it's the law! We've worked with our partners at Stripe.com (one of the world's largest payment processors) to ensure the enrolment process is as simply, painless and quick as possible. Once you're registered with airtip, we take you though a super quick onboarding process. We ask for a quick scan of your ID (Passport or driver's license or Government ID). Once complete and verified, you're all set to withdraw any tips received. You'll be up and running with your QR code and taking tips in no time.

Where can I find my QR Code?Simply log into your account and you'll be taken directly to your dashboard where you'll see the QR code button. You can even print your QR, use it as your watch face or stick it anywhere to receive tips.

Why can't I withdraw my tips?Ahh, there could be a couple of reasons. 1) Your received tips have not cleared yet. Simply put, the tips you received need to go through a clearing stage with banks. This can take up to 7 days but usually within 3 days (sometimes instantly!). Just give it a few days and check back in. 2) You have not verified your account. You can still collect tips (and they'll always be safe with you) but we need to verify who you are before you can withdrawal tips. Just head on over to the side panel and if you see 'unverified' under your profile picture, click this and complete the verification process. It shouldn't take no more than 60 seconds. Note, sometimes, verification is instant, other times it can take 24 hours. Again, do not worry, your tips are safe with you :) If you have any issues, reach out to us in the app.

Why are tips received not available with withdrawal?Tips received will show up instantly on your account. Payouts to your registered bank can take up to 7 days however, it is usually somewhere around 3 days maximum. We use Stripe to help you take tips and they have a clearance rules that can initially affect the speed of payouts but do not worry, your money is safe and secure and you are always in control. For Your first payment (again, due to Stripe rules) will take 7 days to clear but thereafter, it is less than 3 days. First Payout Delay: For new Stripe accounts, there's typically a 7-day waiting period from the time of the first successful payment to the first payout. This initial delay helps mitigate risks inherent in providing credit services. Stripe Support Subsequent Payouts: After the first payout, funds are usually paid out on a daily rolling basis, with a standard payout speed of upto 3 business days in the UK. This means that funds from transactions become available for payout three business days after the transaction date.

What does 'Pending' mean in my transaction list?You may see 'Pending' by some transactions. This tip amount has been received but awaiting clearance from the card holder's bank or payment service provider. Once this amount has cleared, it will be added and shown on your 'available withdrawal amount' button. In most cases, tips are cleared (by local banks and payment providers) within 1-3 days (maximum 7 days for new accounts or international card transactions). Note that pending amounts are added to your total balance when received but not the available withdrawal amount until they are cleared.

Why is my balance not updating?We're constantly working hard to deliver the best experience for our customer but sometime (just sometimes) hiccups happen. It might be something out of our control and you may not see your balance update immediately but rest assured, your tips are always safe. You can refresh the dashboard by navigating away (to any other page like your profile page) and back again. This usually sorts the 'glitch' out but we're working to ensure this doesn't happen.

What is the difference between my personal name and profile name?Like any superstar, you get to have a 'stage name' and bio which you can display to the world. You might be a street performer, small business owner or simply prefer to use a nickname. You can do that in the "My Profile' section. The 'Personal Settings' section is for your real name and details. This is needed to verify who you are and connect to your bank.

Why can't I change my name and number?It's important we secure your account and as part of this, are unable to change the number and name on the account. If you have changed your name or number recently, reach out to us in the app or set up a new account with your new details.

Can I stop the sound?Yip! You sure can. Head over to Personal Settings and you can toggle the sound option on and off. We recommend leaving it on so you can get the full experience...it's also cute to hear that 'kaching' sound when you get paid :)

Can I secure access using biometrics?Absolutely! You can switch biometrics sign in (finger or face) on or off from within the Personal Setting page. We highly recommend you leave this set to on to ensure no one else has access to your account.

Do I get notifications when I'm tipped?Yes! You will see the tip if the app is open but if it isn't, we'll let you know every time your get airtipped via system notification. You will see this in the notification draw but if you prefer not to receive notifications, you can head over to Personal Settings and disable this.

I received a SMS but it wasn't from airtipWe will never ask for your password and personal bank information. All SMS's will be clearly shown from 'airtip'. We use industry grade security to ensure your account is not compromised. We will only send texts from 'airtip' and emails from support@airtip.app or hello@airtip.app. Our staff will never ask for your bank details, password or OTP. if you suspect any unusual activity on your account, reach out to us from the app or write to support@airtip.app

How can I give feedback?We welcome any feedback (good or bad) - but of course we prefer the good :) We'd love to hear from you on any features you'd like to see, any challenges you might be facing or simply let us know how we're doing. You can let us know right from the app. Go to the side menu and select Feedback. All feedback is anonymous - So be as honest as you like!

How can I contact Support?You can reach out to our team from within the app. Just click Contact Us from with the app and briefly describe your issue. One of our lovely team will reach back out to you on your registered email and number. Please note, we send over your contact number/email with your message.

Can I change my bank account?For security reasons, this is not available yet. We're working hard with our partners to find a way to securely and safely allow users to change their bank accounts. Once the bank account is verified, it cannot be changed. If you need to change, we recommend you create a new account with the new bank account details.

What's the difference between Public Profile and Personal Settings?Your personal settings are just that - your personal details like your real name (also used to identify you and your bank account), your phone number and your email. The public profile is used as a 'Persona' you can use for public facing promotions. For example, you could be an actress or singer that has a stage name or prefer to use a single name (you might even be Madonna!). The public profile is also used to let people know what you do, where you work and gives you an opportunity to add a bio to showcase why your customers should tip you. psst, If you need inspiration on a great bio, see FAQ's section "Can you help me with a great bio" for some cool ideas.
